If you have ever done any sort of searching online you have probably come across homepokertourney.com.  It is a super site, but I recently came across a poker directory called Wolf’s poker page.  What I like about this directory is that all of the links fit on one concise page.  It also reads like a who’s who of the poker world.  If you are looking for any sites related to a poker site I wouldn’t definitely start here.  There all kinds of links.  Everything from chip tricks, forums, suppliers, game info and other great info.

I wish I would have known about this site before I ever got started in online poker.  When I first got started I didn’t have a lot of money to risk playing poker.  Well, that isn’t exactly true.  I didn’t have a lot of money my wife would let me spend on online poker.  I had to start at those penny tables, which is fun for a little while, but it seems to lose its luster after awhile.  Spending 2 hours playing to win .75 just doesn’t really give me that poker excitement.

I recently came across a site called free poker bankrolls.  The premise behind the site is really interesting.  They have scoured the Internet for sites that will actually give you money to start playing on their site.  Oftentimes these deposit bonuses are dependent on a matching system.  For example, you put in $100 they will give you $100 in bonus dollars and then put tons of other restrictions on.

It looks like Wall Street wanted a lot more out of PTEK’s earnings this quarter.  The stock traded down 25%.  The stock opened ok and bottomed toward the closing bell.  This stock is rockier than a roller coaster at King’s Island.  We’ll see what tomorrow brings.  This might be a good entry point for the stock.

I have to hand it to the folks at PokerTek they are moving some tables. The two most promising notes are the 319% quarterly growth as compared to the same period a year ago and decreased operating expense. Their operating expense moved from 399% of revenue to 102% of revenue. Which means they are starting to bring in enough cash to cover David Sklansky’s consulting contract. Just kidding.

Another part of the business that is starting to take affect is the recurring licensing and service fees associated with the system. These totaled 1.4 million for the quarter and grew 136% over the comparable period from 2007.

While the tables aren’t cheap at $30,000. The real money is in the recurring licensing once those tables are established. When you consider the world demand for gambling increasing and the fact that Macau is now bigger than Vegas in gambling it seems there could be bright future for the automated poker table market.

Despite the news it looks like Wall Street wanted a little more as the stock is down 7% in after hours trading.
